Coaching has benefitted my work performance as I’ve realised I do not need to justify all my actions all the time to my Team. It has increased my confidence to deal with Team issues by being objective and projecting a different body image. One of my Team was a relative underperformer and that person is now a much better contributor. I’ve also realised the importance of expanding my sphere of influence within the organisation.
Personally I’m a lot more relaxed about balancing family vs. work life. I’ve developed some strategies to address some current issues and am not stressed by future career decisions. Thinking about what was important to me helped me realise I can be successful and contribute equally well all through my life.
Through being coached and challenged, I sought out alternatives and successfully messaged an important issue that seemed to have little traction. This project risk was recognised and reinforced to our upper management by a variety of sources. The message has been received and our Partners engaged. The jury is still out but I feel I’ve closed the loop on this issue, have been effective and increased my visibility.
The most useful coaching conversations made me realise there were a number of tools I could learn. I found the field work very useful and am working towards being a good Team technician for us to achieve the most we can. Even though I found most of the sessions difficult to understand as the concepts were outside my immediate experience (so viewing what was limiting me was difficult) – but I always enjoyed them
The realisation I could do better writing less and listening more – a great “aha” moment. I’ve found practising this has improved communication within my Team.
Greatest change: The realisation I had quite a lot of strengths. That it was possible to achieve better outcomes by employing a number of strategies and often by simply redirecting my efforts slightly.
